Moffitt Cancer Center recognized as one of the best hospitals again in 2009

Moffitt Cancer Center has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best hospitals, No. 16, for the treatment of cancer in the country, as well as being the best in the state of Florida. This is the 11th year in a row that Moffitt has appeared on the news magazine’s cancer list.

Moffitt Cancer Center named a 2009 Working Mother Best Company

Working Mother magazine has named Moffitt Cancer Center one of the 2009 Working Mother 100 Best Companies. From flextime and telecommuting to backup child care and parental leave, Moffitt is responding to tough economic times by taking care of its employees. This is the second year in a row that Moffitt has been recognized by the magazine.

Moffitt Cancer Center named one of 'Florida’s Best Companies To Work For'

Moffitt Cancer Center has been named one of Florida’s Best Companies To Work For by Florida Trend magazine. One-hundred companies were recognized in small, medium and large company categories. Companies that chose to participate in the Best Companies To Work For in Florida process underwent a two-part survey process. The first part consisted of evaluating each company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure employee satisfaction. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.

Moffitt Cancer Center is the 2009 recipient of the Frances Smith Clinical Excellence Recognition Award

Moffitt Cancer Center is being recognized as a facility for supporting clinical excellence and the FNA Clinical Excellence Conference.  The award is based on how the facility creates an environment that encourages nurses to become clinically excellent through provision for education, clinical ladders, recognition events, rewards for certifications, formal programs of recognition for preceptors/mentors and any other factor that nurses feel helps them to develop their skills and ascend to the level of "expert."

Moffitt Cancer Center ranked in the Top 100 Best Places to Work in IT

In 2009, companies nominated for Computerworld 's "Best Places to Work in IT" list received a 75-question survey asking about their organizations' average salary and bonus increases, percentage of IT staffers promoted, IT staff turnover rates, training and development programs, and the percentages of women and minorities in IT staff and management positions.

Moffitt Cancer Center again recognized as one of the 100 most wired hospitals

The annual Hospitals & Health Networks' Most Wired Survey and Benchmarking Study asks hospitals to report on their use of IT in five key areas: business processes, customer service, safety and quality, workforce and public health and safety.

Moffitt Cancer Center honored by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation

Moffitt Nursing was honored to receive the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation 2008 Employer Recognition Award. This prestigious award is presented annually to an organization that has demonstrated sustained support and recognition of oncology nursing certification to its staff. National certification validates mastery of a body of knowledge and skills in a particular nursing specialty. The focus of this award is on oncology; however, Moffitt is proud of its high percentage of certified nurses in many specialty areas of practice such as critical care, perioperative nursing and clinical research.
